As Reall’s first rental project in Kenya, this project provides housing units for affordable landlords in an area of Nairobi called Kwangware, where are number of factories are located. The majority of workers living in the area currently reside in sub-standard rental housing, and this project will meet a demand for affordable, good quality rental homes, while demonstrating the viability of landlords providing high quality rental units in Nairobi without the need for large capital investment. The project will build 16, 18 squared metre bedsits, each equipped with a bathroom and electricity.

KKL’s modular system and technology allows for rapid construction whilst also providing a secure home that is resistant to fire, vandalism, burglary and weather events. The thin panel system uses less carbon than conventional building techniques, whilst allowing for a denser build in very tight locations by minimising wall widths.
