Invitation to Tender – Chair, 2x Board Members, 2x Committee Members

Reall is seeking to recruit five new non-executive positions. A Chair of the Board, two Board members and two members of the Board of Green City Homes International (a fully owned subsidiary of Reall).

We are seeking to hire a professional firm to support the recruitment.

The recruitment firm will work closely with the Chair and Chief Executive, as well as the wider Selection Committee and whoever they delegate authority to.

About Reall

Reall is an innovator and investor in climate-smart affordable housing for people living on low incomes in urban Africa and Asia. We provide specialist consulting services in housing including project preparation, pipeline development, end user financial modelling, risk and project management that integrate with large scale infrastructure and sustainable cities projects.

Our Approach

Safe, serviced, quality housing is a critical component of building resilience for the most vulnerable communities in the world. Reall demonstrates innovative climate-smart models of gender-sensitive, affordable housing with integrated water and sanitation, utilising innovative housing finance solutions. Leveraging green building certificate tools including the IFC EDGE, Reall promotes the introduction of circularity within the built environment as we transition to low carbon, climate-smart homes. Reall’s business model relies on making investments at below market rates to country based housing development, fintech or research partners to deliver against agreed targets in affordable housing schemes across Asia and Africa. In so doing, we create commercial opportunities for country-based engineering, construction, energy and water, digital and research providers.

Our Purpose

3 billion people are expected to be living in informal housing by 2050. Reall’s purpose is to improve the lives of people in urban Africa and Asia through affordable housing. We’re doing this because homes are not just a fundamental human right; they unleash unimaginable human potential to shape a future of gender parity, climate resilience, clean air, renewable energy, and socio-economic justice.

Reall is now looking to take on a more commercial direction, and are in early talks with potential financiers to provide capital funding in a special purpose vehicle set up to invest in green affordable housing targeting the urban bottom 40%-60%.

Reall has a strong Board, as well as an Audit Committee and a separate Board for the fully owned subsidiary Green City Homes International

Chair

We are seeking an experienced Non Executive (not necessarily as a Chair) with some combination of strategy, governance, investment, housing, infrastructure, technology, business development, urbanisation, Africa/Asia.

We would look for a mix of strategy, governance, investment, housing, infrastructure, technology, business development, urbanisation, Africa/Asia.
