Project Overview

Modulus Tech are undertaking pilot project in order to demonstrate their low carbon technology as affordable housing units for the bottom 40th percentile. They are building 19 homes in Karachi on an existing housing development scheme. These units will be Edge certified with the aim of achieving the Advanced Edge standard upon completion. As well as certification the units will incorporate solar PV and energy storage to ensure the homes do not suffer from intermittent energy brown-outs, and water will be treated to drinking standard and provided to the local community at a low cost. This will be the most environmentally sustainable initiative Reall has worked on to date; if the Advanced Edge level is achieved, there is further scope for the scheme to be evaluated in two years against the Zero Carbon Edge standard, a first in Pakistan and the Reall network.
