Unlocking green affordable housing markets in Africa and Asia has never been more important. As he steps down, I want to thank Ian Shapiro (he/him) Shapiro for seven and a half years of fantastic leadership as CEO of Reall, placing our work and our ideas at the heart of this global challenge.
Ian has been an inspiring leader and a driving force behind Reall’s mission. Our strategic direction is clear with an unmatched track record in fostering innovation in housing development, and building impactful collaborations with governments, investors, and the private sector. Throughout his tenure, Ian has championed the importance of integrating climate resilience, gender equality, and social impact into our work. Ian’s commitment to creating sustainable and inclusive housing solutions has left a lasting imprint on our organisation and the communities we serve.
While Ian’s departure marks a significant change, we are confident that Reall’s mission and momentum will continue. Our dedicated team remains focused on delivering innovative solutions, forging new partnerships, and driving positive change in the affordable housing landscape.
I am grateful that Dawn Cole will step in as Interim CEO in the coming days. Dawn is a hugely experienced finance leader with a housing PhD, experience across Housing Association, social impact and charitable service delivery. In parallel we will be shortly advertising for the permanent CEO.
Ian’s visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and legacy can be seen in the incredible diverse high-impact team and Non-Executive Board he leaves behind. He leaves with our enormous appreciation and best wishes for the exciting role he will be taking on shortly.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
